When director Sarah Galligan signed up to cycle to MIPIM it was to raise money for a great children’s charity, Coram, whilst having an amazing cycle ride alongside 150 property industry professionals who also happen to be cycling geeks.
Her passion for cycling- and group rides in particular – was swiftly recognised by her local Trek shop – who invited her to be an ambassador for their woman’s advocacy programme.
Trek recognised that she has truly has the cycling bug, setting up city cycling fundraising tours, spending winter weekends in rural getaways and turning her once-stylish wardrobe into a sandwich of lycra. The brand is supporting her with a carbon-fibre bike and the kit she needs to complete the Cycle to MIPIM challenge.
Sarah says, “I’m delighted to be supported by Trek. I genuinely love my Trek bike – even more than my last Trek bike. I love the engineering support I get from my local Trek team and I’m grateful they are supporting me all the way to Cannes. I look forward to working with them on more fundraising and group cycling events and love being part of an advocacy programme that encourages women to get on their bikes. It is a male dominated sport at the moment – and can feel a bit macho from the outside – but it’s incredible.”
